Jean Carrie Nap, 76, of Boston, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on September 20, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jean dedicated her life to caring for her family. As a homemaker, she lovingly raised and nurtured her three children—Bobby, David, and Linda and created a warm loving home. Later in life, she worked in retail, where she enjoyed meeting new people and was known for her friendly smile and kind nature. Jean was formerly married to Robert Nap.
Jean had a deep love and passion for the simple joys in life like thrift shopping and cooking the finest of foods that brought family together, specially on Sundays.
A self-proclaimed Chinese food connoisseur, she never passed up the chance for takeout and could tell you the best spot in town. Jean loved the beach, spent countless sunny afternoons tanning, and was always up for a game of gin-rummy. She had an uncanny ability to hear everything, even from across the house, and possessed that classic mother’s intuition—she always knew when something was up, even before you said a word.
Jean is survived by her beloved children, Bobby, David, and Linda; her cherished grandchildren, Christa, David, Emily, Devin, Deilya, and Deryan; and her great-granddaughter, Jordan Jean. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Ann, Eleanor, and Linda, who shared a lifelong bond with her. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Yolanda and Ernest Ellis as well as her adored grandson, Michael, whom she held deeply in her heart.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St. South Boston, Wednesday, May 21st from 10 am to 12 pm. Following the service, interment will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
The family thanks all who have supported them during this time and invites you to join in honoring Jean’s memory.
