Michael A. "Myke" Peverill, 73, of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell on March 9, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles Peverill and the late Bertha (Branco) Peverill. Michael was raised and educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1969.
Michael had a long and varied career. He worked as a Tool Crib Keeper and Production Machine Operator at Raytheon. Earlier in his life, he served as a dispatcher for National Freight, the Head Receiver at Stuart’s Department Store, and the Shipping Lead at Sweetheart Plastics, where he authored their “Manual of Freight Car Loading Procedures”—a testament to his knowledge and attention to detail.
A lifelong car enthusiast, Michael had a deep love for Chevrolets, especially Camaros. He enjoyed drag racing at New England Dragway in Epping, NH, and spent countless hours with friends working on race cars. He was also a talented guitarist, a lover of music, and had a keen eye for photography.
Michael is survived by his nieces and nephews: Michael Wetmore of Chelmsford, Dianne Winters of Virginia, and Karen Pianowski of New Hampshire; as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Charlie Peverill, a longtime teacher at Lowell High School, and Carol Wetmore.
