Linda Louise (Pedini) Faria
October 27, 1949 – May 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Louise (Pedini) Faria on May 18, 2025. Born on October 27, 1949, Linda was raised in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and most recently resided in Plainville. A proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, and friend, Linda touched the lives of all who knew her.
Affectionately nicknamed “Bird” by her father and siblings for her delicate size and graceful spirit, Linda was the cherished daughter of a close-knit family and the only sister to four devoted brothers—Arthur, Bobby, David, and Jim Pedini. Growing up in a small town filled with family and lifelong friends, Linda quickly established herself as a strong and compassionate presence in the lives of others.
She graduated from Mansfield High School in 1967 and pursued her passion for caregiving by earning her nursing degree from Pondville Hospital in 1969. For over 51 years, Linda devoted herself to the field of nursing, working tirelessly and selflessly—often during long and difficult shifts—to care for those in need. Her commitment to others extended well beyond her professional life; caregiving was at the core of who she was.
Linda shared a deep, enduring love with her husband of 52 years, Francis X. Faria Jr. What began as a school-age friendship grew into a lifetime partnership marked by mutual respect, trust, and unwavering dedication. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and perseverance—a rare and beautiful bond that stood the test of time.
She is survived by her husband, Francis; her beloved sons, James Faria and his wife Allison, and John Faria; and her three treasured grandchildren, Ariana, Vincent, and Chloe Faria. She also leaves behind numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss her warmth, wit, and guidance.
Linda’s passions were rooted in the simple joys of life—gardening, walking the hill with her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Fred, days at the beach, and the comfort of family gatherings. Above all, she will be remembered as a celebrated caregiver, a loving mother, and a woman whose kindness and strength were felt by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, May 24th from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. at the Sherman Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday morning at the conclusion of visitation at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
In honor of Linda’s generous spirit, the family kindly requests that acts of kindness be performed in her memory.
Linda’s life was a testament to love, service, and family. She will be missed dearly and remembered always.
