Paul Volpe, Sr., age 78, of Mansfield, passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Antonietta Laura (Crivelli) Volpe, to whom he was wed on February 28, 1971.
Born in Savignano, Irpino, Italy on September 26, 1946, he was a loving son of the late Angel and Teresa (Savignano) Volpe.
Paul grew up and was educated in Italy, where he learned the trade of carpentry. A retired self-employed Mechanical Engineer, he was a master-of-all trades and had previously been employed at Carter’s in Needham.
A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty-nine years, Paul was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a former member of the Mansfield Fish & Game Club. He treasured the times spent with his adoring family and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, making wine, camping, gardening and pristinely maintaining his beautiful yard in Mansfield. Paul thoroughly enjoyed watching Clint Eastwood movies and Columbo episodes on television, playing the accordion and when younger played the clarinet in a band in Italy
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted sons, Paul Volpe, Jr. and his wife Tara of Mansfield, David Volpe of North Carolina and Alex Volpe of Mansfield. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Michael Volpe of Mansfield, Madison Volpe of Mansfield, Sophia Volpe of Mansfield and Jason Volpe of South Carolina. He was the dear brother of Leonardo Volpe and his wife Filomena of Milan, Italy, Anna Bonodio of Florida, Connie Simas and her husband Ray of North Attleboro, the late Dominic Volpe, the late Giuseppe Volpe and is also survived by his much-loved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, May 20th from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated also on Tuesday, May 20th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
