Ruth M. Schroer, 75, of Woodcrest Drive, Johnston, passed away on Monday May 12th surrounded by her family in her home. She was the wife of Fred W. Schroer, III. They had been married for 55 years and during those years Fred was completely devoted to Ruth.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Bernard and Claire (Adams ) Waters. She had lived in Johnston for 50 years previously living in Providence.
She had worked as an Executive in the Insurance Industry.
Her joy and happiness were to be spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, always reading novels on the deck at her home. She loved vacationing in the Caribbean with Fred every year.
Besides her husband she leaves her children, Fred Schroer, IV and his wife Laurie of Johnston, Lisa Suzio and her husband Ric of Meriden, Ct. She was the grandmother of John Rouleau of East Providence, Cody Schroer of Johnston, Ashley Suzio of Dallas, TX, Erik Suzio of Meriden, CT, Jake Schroer of Johnston, and Luca Schroer of Johnston. She was the sister of Jean Risdal of Saugerties, NY, Bernard Waters of NY, NY, and Susan Nelson of Ballston Spa, NY. She was the sister of the late Robert Waters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 17th at 12noon in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Her burial will be in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI. A visitation will be held on Saturday May 17th from 10am to 12noon.
