LACONIA ---- Diana ‘Di’ Dufault, 77, of Laconia, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at her home after a brave battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, with her daughters by her side.
Diana was born on January 26, 1948, in Plymouth, NH, to the late Frederick and Emma (Trachier) Fortier.
She grew up in Plymouth, NH, where she attended school. Diana worked at Wilcom as a marketing administrator, Madeira USA as an executive secretary and Allen Rogers as a computer analyst.
She loved watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and drum corp competitions. She also always welcomed her kids’ friends over.
In 1981, she met the love of her life, Wilfred ‘Duffy’ Dufault. They were married on December 31, 1988. Together they enjoyed motorcycle riding, ice fishing and cooking homemade soups and stews on their woodstove. What started as one weekend of camping in Cape Neddick, Maine, turned into seven wonderful years. They met many new friends that turned into their summer family.
She is survived by her daughter Bobette Leeman and husband Lloyd of Gorham, NH, son Toby Long and his wife Michelle of Bluffton, SC and daughter Denise Lugar and husband Mark of Thornton, NH, sisters Carole Myrick of Gilford, NH and Joan Royea of Center Harbor, NH, three granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diana is predeceased by her husband Wilfred, brother Jim Fortier, niece Debbie (Myrick) Bolduc, brother-in-law David Royea and the father of her children, Harold ‘Bud’ Long.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 9:00am-11:00am, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-
Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 033246.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Diana’s name to Granite VNA Hospice, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301 or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL, 60611.
