William H. Belanger, 89, died May 11, 2025 following a period of declining health peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Manchester on August 29, 1935 the son of Gerard H. and Mildred (Smith) Belanger.
He was a graduate of Manchester High School West class of 1953.
He volunteered with several groups over the years.
He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, holding a 4th Degree.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and bird watching and occasionally losing track of time. But using all of his senses he always enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of nature. The family camp in Northern Maine was always a great escape.
Prior to his retirement he worked for Public Service of New Hampshire and was a courier for CMC and Elliot Hospital.
He was predeceased by two sons, John Belanger, Steven Belanger and one brother, Richard Weeks.
Family members include his wife of 67 years and childhood sweatheart, Carole (Godbout) Belanger of Manchester, one son; William R. “Billy” Belanger and his wife, Hong of Northfield, VT., one daughter; Nancy E. Ludwig and her husband, Gary of Henniker, eight grandchildren; Mariah (Dan), Christopher (Amanda), Greg (Alexandra), Elyse, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Stephanie (Nico), Derek, Deven (Chelsea), several great grandchildren, one brother; Gerald Belanger and his wife, Joyce of Laconia, daughter in law; Joanne Aubin and her husband Chuck, sister in law; Ginny Weeks, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A committal service will be held at 11 am following calling hours in St. Joseph Cemetery, Donald St., Bedford.
