Timothy Joseph Horan
May 16, 1965 – May 10, 2025
Timothy Joseph Horan, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, just shy of his 60th birthday. Born on May 16, 1965, in York, Pennsylvania and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Tim was a longtime resident of Framingham, where he spent a lifetime enriching the world around him through art, humor, and heartfelt connection.
A proud member of the Wellesley High School Class of 1983, Tim pursued his passion for the arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he discovered a deep talent for sculpture and wood carving. He later continued his studies at Boston University, refining his skill and voice as an artist. Over the years, Tim built a fulfilling career that reflected his artistic vision, ultimately focusing on the restoration of antique furniture—breathing new life into pieces with care, precision, and love.
An avid cyclist and voracious reader, Tim’s curiosity and creativity knew no bounds. Whether it was a great piece of music, an intriguing novel, or a unique work of art, he delighted in sharing his discoveries with others. He had a special love for live music, always excited to attend concerts and experience the energy of a live performance, and as well for classic cinema.
Tim had a gift for finding treasures—be it a vintage record, a perfectly chosen book, or simply a well-timed joke—and sharing them in ways that made those around him feel seen and understood. His quick wit, thoughtful spirit, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Tim cherished his family and friends deeply, always eager to hear about their lives, passions, and stories. He proudly displayed the artwork of his then young niece and nephew in his home—a quiet reflection of the love, encouragement, and pride he carried for those closest to him.
Tim will be remembered not only for the beautiful art he created but also for the beauty he brought to everyday life through kindness, curiosity, and connection.
Tim is survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Irene (McRann) Horan of Natick, MA; his sisters, Amy Horan and her partner John Landers of Mashpee, MA, and Meaghan (Horan) Walsh and her husband Steven Walsh of Wilmington, MA; his nephew, Kyle Corda of Cheyenne, WY, and his niece, Kaylie Corda of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by many dear cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA.
