WORCESTER – Peter B. Milecki, 82, died Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the Jewish Healthcare Center after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Wanda L. (Podolak) Milecki; 2 daughters, Irene W. Nerden and her husband Dick of Wakefield and Christine E. Buonomo and her husband Mark of Grafton; 4 grandchildren, Claudia and David Nerden, and Elizabeth and Nicholas Buonomo; a brother, Edyk and a sister Trudy, all of Poland; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister Irene and his brothers Henry, Simon, Teodor and Felix.
He was born in Galczewko, Poland on May 19, 1942, a son of Antoni and Marianna (Druzdzynska) Milecki and graduated from a trade high school. He emigrated to Milwaukee in 1960 and then took up residence in Worcester 60 years ago.
He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Milecki was a machinist at Johnson Steel and Wire and then at Jamesbury Corporation, retiring in 2001.
He belonged to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and also to Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster. He was a member of the Webster Polish National Alliance #1063.
His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He and Wanda loved polka music and frequently went dancing to Polish band music. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England sports teams. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 16, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster, with the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council providing military honors. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, 4 Veterans Way, Webster, MA 01570.
