Veronica R. "Ronnie" (Walsh) Boyden, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She was 85 years of age.
Ronnie was born in Boston on December 3, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward Walsh and Mary Cavanaugh. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated high school. Family was everything to Ronnie, she especially loved the holidays and cherished spending time with her granddaughter Patrice and her great-grandson Davio. She was a foodie and enjoyed trying different restaurants. In her younger years, she loved spending time at Old Orchard Beach. She was a loyal and giving person who never let anyone down. She would do anything for anyone.
Ronnie was predeceased by her husband James Boyden and her longtime partner Paul Fitzpatrick. She was the loving and devoted mother of Theresa Boyden and her late husband Butchie, Marie Boyden Connors and her husband Peter, and the late Jimmy Boyden and Patrick Nee. She is the cherished Nana of her granddaughter Patrice, and Gigi to her great-grandson Davio. She is the dear sister of Anna DiDomenico, and the late Edward McGonagle, David McGonagle, Catherine "Goo" Powers, Frances Campbell, and Irene "Rene" Reeder. She is survived by her niece and nephew Annie and Chris, along with many other loving nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her cherished lifelong friend Peggy Doherty, whom she deeply loved, and her lifelong friends Kathy Pedulla, Jan Nardone, and her sister-in-law Rita Boyden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ronnie's Funeral Mass on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 12 Noon in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Parking attendants provided at church. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
