Born in Jelgava, Latvia on April 13, 1940, she was a loving daughter of the late Ansis and Anete (Baumanis) Puiselis.

Velta’s family was the essence of her life and she was ever-so-proud and happy of being a grandmother. Throughout the years, she also displayed her love for family with the role of a dedicated caregiver to her mother, mother-in-law , as well as to her cousins.

A member of the Latvian Lutheran Church, Velta enjoyed performing with the Chaminade and Norton Singers, where she shared her beautiful voice as a soloist. She enjoyed reading and when younger, ran races in Germany. Mrs. Berzins was also quite proud of her ability to speak three languages and will be deeply missed by her adoring family and all who knew and loved her.
