Robert J. Gonsalves, 47, of New Bedford died Thursday August 17, 2006 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the son of the late John A. and Laura R. (Duarte) Gonsalves.
Mr. Gonsalves was formerly employed by Whaling City Iron Works.
He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include a son, Tobya Rozario Rounds of Warren, Maine; a sister, Lori Lea Gonsalves of New Bedford; a brother, Delvin R. Gonsalves of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Alize Rounds of Warren, Maine, Amarae Fernandes of New Bedford, and Rozario Rounds of Lincolnville, Maine; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was the brother of the late John A. Gonsalves, Jr., and grandson of the late Roberto "Poppy" and Guilhermina "GiGi" Duarte.
