Mrs. Jeanne D. (Leis) Larsen, 94, of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at her home in Andover. The daughter of the late Martin and Peggy (Durkin) Leis, she was born in Chicago, IL on September 7, 1930.
Jeanne lived a long and happy life, and enjoyed travel, golf, bowling, bridge, canasta, long walks, dancing, parties, a 5 PM cocktail, her children, her grand children, her great grandchildren and...life. She was congenitally happy, positive, and known for the infectious smile she shared with everyone she encountered.
She was married to John B. Andersen for 37 wonderful years. They were blessed with nine rambunctious, independent children who adored their adventurous, fun-loving mom. After John’s passing, Jeanne enjoyed 13 happy years in her second marriage to Lester Larsen until his passing, and welcomed his 5 adult children to the family, along with their children and grandchildren.
She was also pre-deceased by her sister Marilyn Meissner, her brother Martin (Skip) Leis, her sister/brother-in-law Patricia and Robert Ermatinger, and her daughter Aimee Dixon. Jeanne is survived by her three daughters: Cathleen Andersen, Peggy Andersen (Chris Ward), and Christine Harrington (John Harrington), and by her five sons: Allan Andersen, Michael Andersen (Barbara Andersen), Laurence Andersen, John Andersen (Rosemary Andersen), and Peter Andersen (Louise Rush). She has 20 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. In her final years, she she was lucky to find a great friend and companion in Don Summers, who cared for her and always left a smile on her face.
