Heather Renee Bertrand, 43, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, was welcomed into Heaven Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery, in Ben Hill County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Bertrand was born November 13, 1981 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Sarah Hall and Rex Bertrand. She graduated from Colon High School in Michigan, where she still has a lot of family and friends. She then returned to Fitzgerald to complete her Nursing degree. She loved her dog “Little”, fishing and gardening. With her career as a Nurse, she received multiple awards for her compassion for the elderly. Her big heart carried into her personal life by always putting others before herself. Heather was the light in the room and the life of the party. Everyone that met her loved her. Heather was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Hall & Lamar; father, Rex Bertrand & Siyi; companion, Jed Tanner; siblings: Adam Bertrand, Montana Nicolelli & Justin, and Oliver Merritt & Bethany; a special cousin whom was more like a sister, Tara Owens; nephew, Jackson Bertrand; nieces: Gracie Seeley and Jovie Nicolelli; and her grandmother, Denise Crapo. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Delos & Delores Bertrand; maternal grandfather, Duane Crapo; uncle , Tim Parker; and her aunts: Kim Binkley, and Julie Dunkel.
