Obituary

Harriett Kirkpatrick, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 82 years old. Born in 1942 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Harriett was a lifelong resident, living in the same home for over 60 years.

Harriett was known for her quick wit, and impeccable timing. She was never without a one-liner or a signature saying that could make you laugh, think, or both. Her sense of humor was one of her greatest gifts. Her sayings, repeated often and never worn out, will live on as part of her family's story. Harriett’s strength and determination were evident in everything she did. Strong-willed and determined, she faced life’s challenges with resilience, never backing down from what she believed in. She lived life on her own terms, and her strength, humor,
and spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Harriett is survived by her four children, Bob Kelso of Weymouth, Bill Harris and his wife Barbara of Stoughton, Holly MacKay of Weymouth and Kelly Shepperd and her husband Jason of Orange Park, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Davidson of Jacksonville, FL.
Harriett was the loving grandmother of many grandchildren, Bob, Jr., and Christopher Kelso of Florida, Daniel MacKay and his partner Minha Kim of Virginia, Michelle Murray and her husband Kevin of South Carolina, Meghan MacKay of Massachusetts, Garrett Sheppard and his wife Brittany of Florida, Marena MacKay of California, Abbey Villalva and her husband Chris of Georgia and Sawyer Harris of Massachusetts. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she had a unique bond with each one. A bond that was filled with laughter, life lessons, and memories that will last forever. She was a constant presence, always ready to offer advice, a listening ear, or a joke to brighten their day. Harriett also had many great grandchildren, Christopher and Easton Kelso and Preston and Braylin Kelso, Kyla, Kailynn, Lennon and Lincoln Murray, Isabella Sheppard and Hudson and Sheppard Villalva.

While no formal services will be held, the family will host a Celebration of Life at a future date to honor Harriett’s memory. In the meantime, her loved ones invite everyone to celebrate her life in their own way — perhaps by sharing a cherished memory, saying one of her famous quotes, or simply holding her in their hearts with a smile.
