Edward P. Potvin, 68

Dateline: Norton, MA

Edward P. Potvin, age 68, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Carol L. (Chace) Potvin, to who he was wed for thirty-three years.

Born in Brockton , Massachusetts on September 14, 1956, he was a loving son of the late Leonard P. Potvin. He had his home in Norton for most of his life and was educated in Norton Public Schools.

Ed was extremely proud of being a member of the International Brotherhood of Truck Drivers Union 653. His teamster’s career was spent as a delivery person for J.J. Nissen Bakery. Following his retirement from the Union, Ed worked as a driving instructor for TDA in Norton.

Ed was a simple man whose family was the main ingredient and focal point of his life. He was well-known in the Norton Community, serving as a coach for town football, baseball and basketball. He coached grades from elementary school through high school and had the distinction of being part of Norton Lancers Football Team when they won the Superbowl Championship in 1985.

Edward will always be remembered as the best dad ever, for his strong work ethics, enjoyment of a good cigar and the pleasure he received anticipating the birth of his first grandchild.

In addition to beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children Luke Potvin of Norton, Melissa Potvin and her fiancé Ethan of Norton and stepchildren Mark Perry and his wife Kristy of Norton, Christopher Perry and his wife Shawn of Norton, Joshua Perry of Norton and Suzanne Perry of Norton.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 13th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton. Burial will be private.
