Joan White of Dedham, MA died on May 1, 2025 after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones. Joan was born in Boston on March 23, 1939 to Mary and William White. She was raised on Calumet Street on Mission Hill in Boston, where she attended Mission High.
Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Michele Belmont and son, Richard Murray, and is survived by her daughter, Karen Aherne. Joan was the beloved grandmother of seven and great-grandmother to ten. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul White and William White, Jr., and was the dear eldest sibling to Janice (Alan) MacDonald, Mary (Jack) Claflin, Michael (Bernadette) White, Stephen (Maura) White, and Jacqueline (Warren Mayberry) White, and devoted aunt to their children.
Joan had a long career as a business owner and associate in another family business and will be missed by many lifelong friends.
Please join the family at a Funeral Mass on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church) at 1545 Tremont Street in Boston.
