Janet L. Taylor (Baker), 75, of Hanson, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2025. Born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, to Stanley L. Baker and Jean G. Baker (Remick), Janet was a graduate of Whitman Hanson Regional High School. She held various jobs throughout her life, ultimately dedicating over 30 years to Bridgewater State College, where she worked in the Admissions and Registrar's office until her retirement.
Janet had a remarkable green thumb and took immense pride in the beautiful flower gardens she cultivated in her yard. Her creative talents extended to quilting, a passion she embraced later in life, crafting stunning quilts for her loved ones. An avid football fan, Janet recorded every Patriots game to ensure she never missed a moment. She was known in the neighborhood, taking her daily walks with her loyal companion Gus and her cat Smudge trailing behind.
Above all, Janet cherished the time spent with her two grandchildren, Haley and Grayson. Known affectionately as "Grammy," she was present for every significant moment in their lives, and they were truly the light of her life.
Janet leaves behind her daughter Jessica and husband Tim of Hanson, her brothers Steven Baker and Richard Baker. She was predeceased by her brothers Bruce Baker and Robert Baker.
In honoring Janet's wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorial donations can be made to the Mass Audubon Society.
