Edward, a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved husband of Eleanor (Unick) Sullivan passed away on May 4th, 2025. He was 92 years old.
Edward was born on September 12th, 1932 in Andover, Massachusetts. He was the beloved son of the late Edward B and Elizabeth (Dyer) Sullivan. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950 and was a US Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War. While in the military, Edward was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal for his outstanding service. Edward worked for the New England Telephone Company until he retired as a contract work inspector from Nynex. He was a member of St. Augustine Parish. Edward enjoyed playing all sports, especially baseball and hockey. He was a talented tennis player who won many competitive events. He and his beloved wife were original members of Cederdale tennis club.
Edward is survived by his wife of 65 years Eleanor, his children Kelly and her husband Marc Ouellet of Kittery Maine, Karen Sullivan of Amesbury, Edward Sullivan and his wife Ann Marie of Andover and Timothy Sullivan and his wife Kate of Weston, Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amy and her husband Sean Towler, Grace, Caitlin, Shane, Jaxson, and Caden Sullivan, Kevin and Kylie Hern.
Words cannot express how lucky we were to have such a devoted, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather.
There are no calling hours at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend his funeral mass at St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex Street, Andover on May 9th at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. At the request of the family, the burial will be private. Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to Andover Veteran Services, 30 Whittier Court, Andover MA 01810.
