Elsie Elizabeth Cottingham, 86, of Anderson died May 4, 2025 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus.
She was born May 18, 1938 in Anderson, the daughter of Howard and Margaret (Dell) Cottingham. Elsie graduated from Lapel High School in 1956 and received her bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 1960 and Master's degree in Library Science from Ball State University in 1982. She was a librarian at Anderson University for 40 years before retiring August 31, 2000 as Professor Emeritus of Library Science.
She was a life long member of Park Place United Methodist Church which became Cross Roads Global Methodist Church in Anderson.
Elsie is survived by her cousins and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Robert and Sarah Elizabeth (Adams) Cottingham and Leonard and Elsie (Downs) Dell and Dora (Bigley) Dell. :
Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Cross Roads Global Methodist Church; 2000 North Scatterfield Road; Anderson, with Rev. Rick Jones and Rev. Steve Ellis officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cross Roads Global Methodist Church Food Pantry in Elsie's memory.
