Betty Jean Davis Driggers, 91, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church Ty Ty. Mrs. Driggers will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church Ty Ty from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Driggers’ grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 24, 1934, in Tift County, Mrs. Driggers was the daughter of the late James Alexander Davis and Eliza Bostick Davis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Eston Bennett, who passed away in 1964; her second husband, Clifford Driggers, who passed away in 1996; one grandson, Joseph Sledge; four brothers, James Davis, John Davis, Carl Davis and Cecil Davis; three sisters, Vernice Hall, Eunice Pettit and Mary Davis; two sons-in-law, Joey Hall and Milton Sledge; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Driggers. Before retiring, she was a lifelong employee at Sears in Tifton; and she was a member of First Baptist Church Ty Ty.
Mrs. Driggers is survived by two daughters, Diann Hall of Brookfield and Elaine Sledge of Ty Ty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Jane Bennett of Ty Ty and Billy and Vicki Driggers of Tifton; one sister, Julia Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Carolyn and Rodney Hill, Woody and Tori Driggers, Danielle and Davis Allison, Jessica and Travis Woody, Christian and Ashley Mathieu, Michael and Amanda Driggers, Dustin and Jenny Hall, Cole and Anna Kate Bennett and Summer and Dylan Cody; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Hilda Davis of Brookfield, Jean Wood and Connie Mosley, both of West Berrien; and one brother-in-law, John Bennett of West Berrien.
Betty was proud of her large and blended family, and it was her joy to spend time with them. She kept a special project of recording her extended family history and sharing it at reunions.
