Antoine Jean Charles Lamousnery, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 18, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Sylette Cayo, with whom he joyfully celebrated 55 years of marriage earlier this year.
Born on December 19, 1943, in Jacmel, Haiti, Antoine was the son of the late Noé Lamousnery and the late Loriane Domond. He was raised and educated in Haiti, where he spent most of his life before beginning to visit the United States regularly in 2008 to spend cherished time with his family.
A passionate and patriotic man, Antoine dedicated his life to serving the people of Jacmel, Haiti. He worked as a technician in agriculture for over thirty years, contributing his skills to government projects and other organizations. Alongside his agricultural work, he was a journalist for a radio talk show, focusing on politics and current events in Haiti. Deeply connected to Haiti’s spiritual culture, Antoine was a strong advocate for his country and its people, always offering help wherever and however he could.
Antoine’s legacy is carried on by his devoted children: Honorine H. Lamour and her husband Jean H. Lamour, Thierry Lamousnery and his wife Bernadette Gillot Lamousnery, Olguerline Lamousnery and her husband Ed Junior Aubourg, Loriane Lamousnery and her fiance Wisnie Louis, Vladimir Lamousnery and his wife Eugenie Joseph Lamousnery, Witland Lamousnery, Evans Lamousnery, Myriam Janvier, Rosny Janvier, Irvelt Janvier, Michaella Janvier, Jean Alex Ladouceur, Petiote Frantz, Kimberly Gilot, Jonathan Wesly, Walensky Constant, Athan Yves Lauture and Bencalie Alix.
He was a proud grandfather to: Andrew Lamousnery, Brendan Lamousnery, Christopher Lamousnery, Hasseena Rose Lamousnery, Vladimir Chris-Robert Lamousnery, Sharseelynn Lamousnery,Jorryn Almazor, Lovens J. Lamousnery, Brielle H. Lamour, Tristan N. Lamour, Sthalie Jonas, Laureen Jonas, Anta Weeverly Janvier, Liam Janvier, Mea Kerly Petiote, Frantzdy Petiote, Anajilia Constant, Faby Wesly, Deboa Anjel, Deaglan Lamousnery, Evelyn Lamousnery, Sanylaika Lamousnery, Olivier Lamousnery, Niamar Bellanda Lamousnery, Marlifaite Roi, Wilclef Lexil, and Christopher Lucas Ladouceur, Keasha St Hubert
He is also survived by his cherished siblings: His twin brother, Antoine Jean Claude Lamousnery, Jean Elie Lamousnery, and Elsie Lamousnery.
Antoine leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as extended family including members of the Lamousnery, Domond, Labé, Cayo and Lamothe families.
Antoine’s life was a testament to love for family, devotion to his homeland, and compassion for others. He will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his kindness, and the profound impact he had on so many lives.
