Helen M. Crowley, a lifelong resident of Boston, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Her deep Catholic faith was the guiding force throughout her remarkable life journey, inspiring, sustaining, and strengthening her every step.
A true trailblazer, Helen consistently chose the path less traveled, leading her to a life filled with wonderful places and experiences. Her early career began as a telephone switchboard operator, a role that took her to various locations across New England. Driven by a spirit of adventure and wanderlust, Helen embarked on a pioneering career as an American Airline Stewardess in the late 1950s, embracing the glamorous life of flying across America's vast skies.
Shortly after, fate intervened, and she met the love of her life, Richard F. Crowley, a dedicated Boston Police Sergeant. They married on May 9, 1959, and shared sixteen blissful and happy years together before Richard was called home to the Lord. Together, they were raising their four children until his untimely passing in 1975. It was during this challenging time that Helen placed her unwavering faith in God, who remained her constant companion and source of strength. She faced life's hurdles with grace and resilience, her devout faith carrying her through.
Helen's love for the ocean drew her to both Cape Cod and Marshfield, where she created countless cherished memories with family and friends. She lived life boldly, embracing challenges with a spirit that knew no failure. Her strength, courage, resilience, and fierce independence were the cornerstones of her extraordinary life. Her spirit and memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Helen is survived by her brother, Richard Lang, and his wife, Elaine, of Norwell; her children, Richard F. Crowley and his wife, Rita, of Canton; Carolyn Ng and her husband, Paul, of Westwood; Paul Crowley and his wife, Barbara, of Dedham; and Laura FitzPatrick and her husband, Brian, of Dedham. She was the proud grandmother of Nicole Foy, Richard F. Crowley IV, Jacqueline, Alexandra, and Jonathan Ng, Colin, Bridgette, and Maille Crowley, and Brian, Siobhan, and Steven FitzPatrick. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Ainsley and Ellie Foy. Helen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many loving friends who will deeply feel her loss.
