Salem
Suzanne (Susie) L. Webb, 73, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday April 22, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. and Doris J. (Marquis) Webb.
Susie was a graduate of Danvers High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Boston State College. Susie went on to teach in the Danvers Public School system for almost 40 years. Most of her tenure was spent teaching second grade at the Great Oak Elementary School. Later in her career, Susie earned her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Cambridge College. Following her retirement Susie was proud to Substitute at both the Horace Mann Laboratory School and the Saltonstall School in Salem where she continued her legacy of building lifelong learners.
Photography was a passion of Susie’s. She would often incorporate her own photographs into her poetry lessons for students. This led to her publishing her photography in the books ‘Whispers for a Magical Time” and “Ripples of Light.”
In addition to photography and teaching, Susie loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, rooting for her Red Sox, and could never pass up a good yard sale.
She is survived by her two daughters, Samantha L. Sousa and partner James R Boucher of Salem and Emily S. Sousa and partner Brian K. Brown of Lynn, and her five grandchildren, Peyton, Brian, Lily, Keith and Jack. She also leaves eleven siblings, Donald L. Webb of South Carolina, John F. Webb of Danvers, Stephen F.
