Mary L. D’Iacono, 92

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Mary L. D’Iacono, age 92, of Mansfield, formerly of Readville, passed away, surrounded by her adoring family on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Born in Boston, MA on September 4, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Flamino and Margaret (DeOrio) D’Iacono.

Mary grew up and was educated in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 2 ½ years and was a former longtime resident of Readville, where she was a communicant of Saint Anne’s Church a member of the Readville Senior Citizens.

Prior to retiring, Mary worked in the inspection department at the Stride Rite Shoe Company in Roxbury and later at the Morse Shoe Company in Canton. Mary’s happiest times were those spent amongst her precious family and being a grandmother and great grandmother was the frosting on the cake.

An avid reader, Mary enjoyed playing cards, her daily tea and cookies and shopping. She will always be remembered for delicious baking skills and at the time of her unexpected death, was anticipating the births of her 5th and 6th great grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted daughter AnnMarie Walsh and her husband Paul of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher Walsh and his wife Jackie of Mansfield, Nicole Gonsalves and her husband Patrick of Norton, Shane Walsh and his wife Jessie of Mansfield and the great grandmother of Jake, Landon, Aria and Nora. She was the dear sister of Gilda D’Iacono of Mansfield and the late Joseph DelloIacono and Frank DelloIacono.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 8th from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visiting hours on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
