Obituary

CHICOPEE – Clarisse Barbara (Therrien) Lapierre, 96, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Thursday, May 1, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on April 30, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Theodore and Evelina (Sorel) Therrien. She was raised in Holyoke until the age of four and in 1933, her parents moved to Fairview where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was employed for over 20 years at the Advertising Corporation of America in Holyoke. She was a devoted communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild and the Marie Riviere Associates. She was also a rosary maker, made blankets for babies at the local hospitals, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Most of all, she loved her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Adrien I.V. Lapierre who was Called Home on April 27, 2005; her loving son, Kenneth R. Lapierre who was Called Home on February 4, 2021; her dear brothers, Edward and Alfred Therrien; and her dear sisters, Marieanne Swierzewski and Antoinette Roy. She leaves her devoted and loving daughter, Barbara L. Lapierre of South Hadley; her loving daughter-in-law, Eileen A. (Burke) Lapierre of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Karen D. Jalbert and her husband, Daniel, of Westfield; Jennifer A. LeMay of Chicopee, and Jason P. Lapierre and his wife, Noel, of Little River, SC; her eight cherished great grandchildren, Andrew and his wife, Vera, Katie, Zachary, Justin and his fiancée, Sadie, Alex and his husband, Ryan, Noah and his wife, Danielle, Makayla and her fiancé, Dakota, and Logan; her two cherished great-great granddaughters, Mila Jalbert and Lilah Faulk; and her may dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Barbara’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham for their care and compassion. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass.
