Isaura M. Collins, 64, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Thursday May 1, 2025, in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She peacefully left this world while surrounded by her family. The room was filled to the brim with love and appreciation for having had Isaura in their lives.
Isaura was born on May 31, 1960, in Caldelas-Braga, Portugal as the 7th of 11 children. She was a daughter of Jose and Maria (Sousa) Almeida. Isaura came to the United States at the age of 15 and has been living in New Hampshire since 1987. She has been a resident of Londonderry for over 22 years. Isaura married the love of her life, Ronald Collins in 1995, and they had their son, Andrew, the following year.
Throughout her life, Isaura has been the perfect model of strength, resilience, and success. Despite numerous hardships, she thrived by never letting these experiences dim her vibrant excitement for life. She always showed those around her how to persevere while still radiating love and kindness. More recently, she was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 2019, yet she found the strength to aggressively combat the disease. Due to her strength, she bravely and successfully fought her cancer for over 5 years and was able to see Andrew achieve his Ph.D., which was dedicated to her for the many sacrifices she made for him and her family. Though, he always admitted that his mom was still the smarter of the two.
She is survived and will be eternally missed by her beloved husband Ronald Collins, her son, Andrew Collins, her stepson, Ronnie Collins and his wife, Chrissy. She is also survived by one brother, Emidio Almeida, six sisters, Lurdes Pinto, Manuela Almeida, Fatima Dedic, Ilda Almeida, Isabel Almeida, Anabela Pereira; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and additional extended family. She was predeceased by one brother Jose Carlos Almeida and one sister São Miguel.
To those of us who knew Isaura, the world is a bit colder since her passing. Though, we hope to honor and cherish Isaura’s memory by carrying forward the immense amount of love and warmth that she offered us throughout her life. Her family will forever love her and hope to reunite with her again.
