Obituary

LYMAN - Frances Fernande (Morissette) Camire, 93, passed away on April 29, 2025 at her home. She was born in Bromptonville, Canada on January 11, 1932, daughter of deceased Joel and Priscille (Valcourt) Morissette. After finishing 8 years at Cousins Memorial School, she started her work career at Woolworth 5 & 10 in Biddeford. During her life, she worked a variety of jobs to help supplement the family income. At one point in her life, while raising five children, she even made homemade pastries for Jackson's Corner Store. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, picking blueberries, baking pastries, crocheting, playing horseshoes, visits from family and friends, and especially playing Pichenotte (pitchnut/Carrom). She always liked a good challenge. Frances was also one of the original members of St. Phillip Church which she attended for many years before moving to Sanford. After her beloved husband, Henry, passed away in 2000, she moved back to Lyman where she became again a member of St. Phillip for an additional 22 years.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Leon and Marcel, her sisters, Cecile, Solange, Denise, and Jeanne, her husband, Henry Camire, a son, Roger Camire who died in 2024, a granddaughter, Val, who died in 2019, and son-in-law, Wilfred Daigneault, who died this past February.

Frances is survived by her children, Priscilla Daigneault of Machias, Therese Tolliver of Lyman, Martin Camire of Greenfield Township, PA, Claire Stull of Hollis, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Camire of Lyman, her sister, Raymonde and her husband, Leo LaCourse, of Springvale, and her sister-in-law, Sister Margaret Camire of Marlborough, MA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Phillip Church in Lyman. Burial will immediately follow at the Morissette Family Cemetery, as well as a celebration of life at the St. Phillip's Hall in Lyman.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Good Shepard food bank.
