Robert Brennan of Holliston passed away on April 28, 2025, with his wife, Diane, by his side. He is survived by Diane, their children, N. Marie and Matthew, his mother-in-law Mary Ellen Simmons, and Diane's extended family.
Robert, known as Bob, was a devoted family man and a passionate gardener, a lover of murder mysteries read by the beach on Martha’s Vineyard, and a steadfast companion to many beloved pets. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to found a nurse training consultancy, author both professional books and a novel, and launch a hypnotherapy-on-tape practice.
The early PC he brought into the house for those businesses kindled his son’s lifelong interest in technology, while the psychology textbooks he read aloud while studying nurtured his daughter’s eventual path to the same degree.
In his own career, Bob rose from being an individual nurse to running multiple nursing homes focused on Alzheimer’s care, a disease which he eventually faced himself. To the end he never lost his kindness, curiosity, dad jokes, or deep love of his family – frequently expressing how appreciative he was for his wife’s love and care. In accordance with his wishes and spotlight-avoiding character, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
