LIMERICK- Jacqueline Irene Dube (Laverriere), lovingly known as Memere for the past 30 years, passed away on April 29, 2025, surrounded by the family she so fiercely loved and nurtured.
Jacqueline was the heart and soul of her family — the sun we all revolved around. She was beautiful, joyful, and positive until the very end, always a light in every room she entered. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith were gifts she gave freely to everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
Born to Lorenzo and Yvonne (Binette) Laverriere, Jacqueline grew up in Biddeford, Maine, where she later raised her own family with endless devotion. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Biddeford and more recently attended St. Matthew’s Church in Limerick. Her faith was her foundation, guiding her through a life full of love, service, and grace.
On December 27, 1969, Jacqueline married the love of her life, Martial Dube. She often shared with the world how she had patiently waited for the “right one” — and found the very best there ever was. Their love story was one of deep devotion and partnership. In these past three years, as Jacqueline’s needs grew, Martial — with the help of his family — cared for her lovingly, patiently, and humbly, finding joy and purpose in serving the woman he adored. Their bond was unbreakable, a living testament to the promises they made to one another decades ago.
Jacqueline’s greatest joy was her family. She lived for them, cared for them, and celebrated every moment alongside them. She was a constant support — babysitting, cleaning, cheering at every event, and loving her grandchildren with every piece of her heart. Known for feeding everyone (no one ever left her house hungry), laughing often, playing cards on Tuesdays with her sisters-in-law and nieces, and watching football while country music played in the background, Jacqueline created a life full of simple joys and big love.
She laughed easily and accepted life’s changes with grace. She welcomed all into her home and heart — a mother figure to many, loved by all who crossed her path.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her siblings Gerard, Renald, Richard, and Norman Laverriere, and Simone Green. She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Martial Dube; her daughters, Sandy Bibro and her husband Edward, Debbie Keim and her husband Fox; and her beloved grandchildren: Dylan and Camden Bibro, and Savana, Isabelle, and Marena Keim. She will also be missed by her large extended family including brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as the many nieces and nephews she loved so completely. Her love, lessons, and laughter will live on through all of them.
Jacqueline’s legacy is simple and yet profound: to laugh easily, to love with force, and to serve others. She told those she loved just how much she loved them at every encounter. Her hugs were as powerful as her laugh; both of which were life altering. There was no challenge she couldn’t overcome, no hardship she couldn’t remedy. Her infectious laugh, unwavering support and positivity were impossible to ignore.
As her days grew more difficult, she often said how lucky she was to be surrounded by so much love — but it wasn’t luck at all. It was the life she built through tireless selflessness, steadfast devotion, and a heart bigger than the sky. To be loved by her was a privilege, to give back in her time of need was an honor.
There never has been — and never will be — a more loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. We are the lucky ones to have been created and shaped in her radiant, joyful presence.
In the words of Mother Teresa,
"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier."
Jacqueline lived those words every day of her life.
