Guitars in the Classroom

The following was the eulogy given by Samantha, Paul's daughter

Good morning Everyone,

We are gathered here today to remember and celebrate the life of my father, Paul Felber. It's hard to imagine a world without him in it. He was the steady presence in my life, the one person I could always count on no matter what. From the moment I was born he made it clear that he was there for me, forever.

Growing up, I had so many special moments with my dad. He taught me how to ride a bike, drive a car, cook a good meal. He always believed in me and supported everything I have ever wanted to do. When I would get discouraged or want to give up he would tell me " Don't sweat the small stuff because it's all small stuff". I always admired how optimistic he was, he always believed things could and would get better.

He was passionate about music. He loved nothing more than buying a new guitar or fixing one up so it worked again. He would have a tackle box of guitar pieces spread out on the kitchen table and sit there for hours until he perfected what he was trying to do. If it wasn't music, it was sports and bicycles. He loved every aspect about riding. Sundays were my favorite though where he would work on the Sunday crossword and Watch the New York Giants, even if they were the worst team in the NFL year after year.

Today, as we honor his life and say goodbye I know that my dads spirit will continue to inspire us all. He showed us that the greatest measure of success is not what you achieve, but how you live. I want to say thank you dad, for everything. You were the absolute best.
