Obituary

Florence Geneva Grice Minshew passed into her heavenly home at her residence on Sunday April 27, 2025 at the wonderful age of 91. At her death her home was filled with the family she loved so much. She was born in 1933 to Thelma Adel and Joseph Lewis Grice. Her life became complete when she married Clayton Minshew in 1953 and she began her lifelong journey of loving and caring for her family. They were married for 52 years before God called him home.

She became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in her youth and faithfully attended as long as she was able. On Sundays, when her children were young, she made sure they were dressed in the cute dresses she had sewn for them. She also made sure that Sunday lunches were special and mostly prepared before going to the church service. At home, she made sure her family knew about God and often sang hymns to pass the time. Her faith was evident in all that she did. She often quoted her favorite scripture which was John 14:1-4.

Summers were for canning and freezing vegetables. She was an excellent cook and no one could be hungry at her house. She was famous for her thin layered chocolate cakes and they were often requested at church and family events. She was a hard working, loving mother and wife who wanted nothing more than to be around her family. In her spare time she made many bracelets and earrings that she loved sharing with family and friends. She also crocheted and did other crafts. One of her greatest joys was attending the Rebecca Arts and Crafts Club and being with the ladies there. Their friendships remained very special.
