BRISTOL ---- Victor Joseph MacAdam, 79, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at home after battling Lewy Body Dementia.
Victor was born on May 7, 1945, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Annabelle MacAdam.
Victor came to the United States as a teenager and attended Brighton High School. In May of 1968, Victor married his wife of 50 years, Elaine Cullen MacAdam.
Victor loved everything about cars. He started working at a gas station, became a mechanic, and eventually owned the station. In 1982, Victor formed Yankee Fence in Marlboro, Massachusetts where he had a welding shop. Eventually in 1989, Victor and his family moved from Framingham, MA to Bridgewater, NH to a home they built where he worked for the town and served on the Bridgewater Fire Department for many years. Victor was a classic car guy and enjoyed everything about the classic hot rod. Nothing made him more excited than to talk about cars.
He studied with a blacksmith for years to master ornamental iron work. In 1994, he formed Iron Horse Metal Works and sold his beautiful creations at craft shows until purchasing a storefront in Bristol, NH in 2000 and opened Earthly Treasures, where his work was displayed along with many other American made crafts until 2015. He was a member of the League of NH Craftsmen, as he designed beautiful award-winning wrought iron works such as, bed frames, tables, candle holders, and much more. His donations to the Minot Sleeper Library in Bristol can still be viewed in their garden area by the river.
Victor is survived by his daughter, Nicole Goudreau and her husband Chris, and grandchildren Hayleigh Letourneau and Zachary Goudreau. In addition to his mother, Victor is predeceased by his wife Elaine MacAdam.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
