Salem
Jacqueline C. (Sauve) Giering, 88, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas W. C. Giering with whom she had shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Waltham and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Aucline and Lydia (Vachon) Sauve. In her early years she began working at Salem Hospital and eventually retired as a healthcare professional. Throughout the years, at different intervals, she worked for various electronics companies.
Jackie was devoted to her family, extended family, and her home. She enjoyed her Bible, cooking, as well as quilting and knitting, but most of her family.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Marie Levesque of Salem, and six children, Theresa M. Prescott of Salem, Thomas A. Giering and wife Jeannie of Minnesota, John H. Giering and Wife Ruthann of Danvers, Raymond M. Giering of Salem, Susan J. Giering of Salem and Patricia A. Hawes and husband Peter of Florida , as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Julie Giering, and her siblings, June Boucher and Leo Sauve.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Capone’s Restaurant, 147 Summit St., Peabody on Saturday, May 3rd from 12:00 to 3:00 PM.
