SANFORD – Linda Rose MacDonald (nee Hilton), age 77, passed away on April 25, 2025, at home after a short battle with neuroendocrine cancer. She was surrounded by friends and family.
Linda was born in Wells, Maine on March 4, 1948, a daughter of the late Roland and Evelyn (Hanson) Hilton. Growing up as the youngest in a large family, Linda enjoyed spending time socializing with her older sisters and brothers (and getting up to as much mischief as her parents would allow). After attending Wells High School, Linda married and had three children: Joseph Welch, Leslie (Welch) Moors, and April Duddy. She retired in 2013 after a long career in retail and manufacturing and spent her most recent years with her daughters and reconnecting with her Christian faith. She was a proud member of the Mercy Chapel community in Sanford, ME.
Linda is predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Lorraine (Toddy), Jeannette (Nibby), Bernice (Tiny), Josephine (Snookie), David, James, and Roland, whom she loved dearly.
Linda is survived by her three children and four grandchildren, Faith Courcy, Rachel Kirchner, Evelyn Brown, and Noah Brown.

Linda’s family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of Southern Maine for their support in ensuring Linda was comfortable and cared for - with dignity and respect - during her transition from this earth to everlasting life.
