Ann M. Stanley, 88, of Hartford Avenue, Johnston, RI passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd in her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Stanley, Sr. They had been married for 53 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Giacomo and Mary (DiChristopher) Salera, she lived in Johnston for 15 years, previously living in Smithfield.
Ann was a generous and loving person. She loved cooking amazing meals for her family and friends, and she loved having them over to her house to share these meals on a weekly basis. Anyone who knew her knows that you never left her house hungry or empty handed.
She leaves her son, Charles E. Stanley and his wife Barbara of Estero, Florida, her two grandchildren, Lauren Stanley & husband Ian Hummel of Manhattan, NY and Thomas Stanley & wife Lauren of West Roxbury, MA. She leaves four great grandchildren, Julian, Kevin, Hugo, and Eliza. She also leaves her niece, Nicole Fuoco of Jamestown, RI, who was like a daughter to her, and a sister, Jackie Dunlap of Alabama. She was the sister of the late Michelle Daily, Concetta Carrera, Shirley Silvestro, Michael Salera, Giacomo (Dukie) Salera, and Charles Salera.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday May 6th at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Her burial will be in North Burial Ground in Providence. Her visitation will be held on Tuesday May 6th from 8:00am to 9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
