PALM COAST, FL – Eunice M. (Roy) Black, 94, a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her daughter Cynthia's home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving daughter, Cyn and her son-in-law, Dennis. She was born in Holyoke on May 24, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph W. Roy and Emma (Dauphinais) Roy. She was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee High School. She lived in the city for many years before moving to Florida in 1998. Most of all she loved her family and her many friends. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her two loving sons, Michael A. Black who was Called Home on April 27, 1977, and Scott R. Black who was Called Home on May 12, 2020 and his wife, Shirley who was Called Home on September 1, 2023; her cherished grandson, James M. Fournier who was Called Home on June 15, 2017; and her five dear siblings, Lorraine Breault, Joseph Roy, Phyllis Skoczylas, Carol Roy and Jane Thomlinson. She leaves her loving daughter, Cynthia J. Fournier and her husband, Dennis, of Palm Coast, FL; her loving son, Glen G. Black and his wife, Catherine, of East Springfield; her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Black, Nathan Black and his wife, Michelle, Daniel Black, Jeffrey Fournier, Melissa Black, Michael Black, Alexandra Black and Gabriella Black; her cherished step-granddaughter, Anastasia Arnold-Efremides; her two cherished great-grandchildren, Devin and Burgandy; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre- Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
