Margaret (Maggie) Tero 1932-2025
Margaret (Chesnauskas) Tero passed away on April 21, 2025 after a period of declining health. Born in Brockton on June 21, 1932, she was the last surviving child of Adam and Julia (Vedekes) Chesnauskas. Maggie graduated from Brockton High School in 1950 and from Mt Ida College. She then had a long career with the phone company.
Maggie was the life of the party. She loved to travel and was known for her beautiful crafts. She was a beloved member of the Red Hats where she hosted many luncheons. Maggie was also the oldest and most active member of the Middleboro Elks Emblem Club where she was a past president and was still organizing and supervising veterans’ luncheons until her illness.
Maggie was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2010, and her five siblings Walter Chesly, Julia Grenis, Veronica McCluskey, Brony Summers and Ralph Chesnauskas. She is survived by her sister-in law Patricia Chesnauskas and niece Holly Chesnauskas of Barnstable, nephew Mark McCluskey and his wife Margaret of Plymouth and niece Karen McSherry and her husband James of Easton, great niece Sarah Baggan and her husband Michael of Plymouth and great nephews Adam McSherry and his wife Sarah of NH and Eric McSherry of Raynham, and four great, great nieces and nephews.
At Maggie’s request, services were private.
