J. V. Revels, 84, of Mystic, Georgia, died Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Roger Tucker officiating. The family will greet friends following the services at the cemetery.
Mr. Revels was born May 7, 1940, in Mystic, Georgia, to the late N. E. & Sadie Land Revels. He was a farmer and he loved animals. Mr. Revels was a member of Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Revels would always say “Be particular on the road” when you left him.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geneva Revels of Mystic; three daughters: Bobbie & Darrell Ross of Ocilla, Cindy & William “PeeWee” Freeman of Fitzgerald, and Karen & Don Ross of Ocilla; grandchildren: Stephanie Crenshaw & Clay, Christy Thompson & Josh, Jeffery Ross and Zachary Revels; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myra Gray & Roger of Wray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Revels; a granddaughter, Jessica Lorane Ross and a brother Glenn Revels.
