Obituary

Mary Zita (Bussey) Brogren, 90 years died July 10, 2006 in San Diego. She was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Lt. William H. Bussey (ret. BFD) and Clara M. (Townsend) Bussey. She was raised and educated in Brockton, graduating from Brockton High School Class of 1934. For over 30 years she had resided in San Diego, previously living in Brockton. During WW II she had been an executive secretary at the Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot, she then worked was a bookkeeper for Intercity Trucking in Brockton for many years. She had also been a member of the National Association of Retired Federal employees. During the war she was also a member of the US Air Force Ground Observer Corps. She had been a member of the St. Patrick Ladies Sodality, 20th Century Catholic Cub and the Franciscan Friars of Atonement. She enjoyed making greeting cards and tatting and was also a talented seamstress. She entertained her friends with her piano playing. She was a fun and outgoing person, giving rides to the elderly for shopping and doctor appointments. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends everywhere, especially those at Cerro Pueblo Housing where she resided in San Diego.

She is survived by two grandchildren, several nephews and a niece she was the mother of the late Donald C. Brogren.

A graveside service will be held in the Bussey family lot at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton Saturday August 19, at 11 am. Her longtime friend Rev. John Jagunich will officiate. Arrangements by Conley Funeral Home, Brockton.
