John D. Louanis of North Reading formerly of Reading passed away Sunday August 13, 2006 at the South Shore Hospital. He was 80 years of age.
Born in Vermont, John was the loving son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Louanis. John was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a family man enjoying the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
John was a Superintendent for the Town of Reading Water Department for 30 years and was also an employee of The Atlantic Supermarket for 5 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving our Country during World War II.
John was the husband of the late Virginia (Terlizzi) Louanis. He was the devoted father of David Louanis of Reading and Richard Louanis of N. Reading, cherished grandfather of Erika Louanis of Reading and Richard, Matthew and Cindy Louanis of N. Reading and great grandfather of one great grandchild.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Service celebrating John’s life in The Church of the Good Shepherd 95 Woburn Street Reading at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
