Mrs. Beverly A. (Wheeler) Mortenson, 68, of Vernon, CT, beloved wife of the late Bruce A. Mortenson, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday August 12, 2006 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Berlin, NH, daughter of the late Bernard and Geraldine (Pickford) Wheeler, she lived in Berlin, NH before moving to Vernon 45 years ago. Prior to her retirement in 2002, Beverly was employed at Rockville General Hospital, where she was the switchboard operator for over 38 years. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church, Rockville. Beverly was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by 2 sons Dana Mortenson and his wife Colleen of Ashford, and Eric Mortenson and his wife Julia of Tolland; 2 daughters Kim Colella and her husband David of Vernon and Penni Lavallee and her husband Luc of Vernon; 8 grandchildren Sarah, Kyle, Lacey, Robert, David, Kali, Shauntel and Eric Jr.; 5 great grandchildren Alex, Derek, Jenna, Jordan and Brieanna; her best friend Peggy Trueb and her husband Wayne of Tolland; an aunt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Besides her parents, and her husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Hannah.
SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday afternoon Aug. 17, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, prior to the service.
