Michael “Mikey” Hyland, of Boston, formerly of Renvyle, Co. Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully in his home on April 2, 2025. Beloved son of the late James Hyland and Julia (Coyne). Dear brother of Mary Horgan and her husband John of Naples, FL, the late John Hyland and his surviving wife Christine of Co. Galway, Ireland, Peter Hyland and his late wife Susan of Co. Galway, Ireland, Stephen Hyland of Brighton, MA, Catherine “Cathy” Coyle and her husband Jimmy of Brighton, MA, Margaret “Peggy” Holland and her husband Michael of Co. Galway, Ireland, Thomas Hyland and Martin Hyland both of Co. Galway, Ireland. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mikey was a member of the Connemara Gaels Football Club of Boston in the 1970's, making many friends along the way.
Mikey spent many summers vacationing in his homeland of Ireland. He was happiest walking the beach with his dear friend Geraldine Sammon and visiting family and friends in Renvyle.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8th, at 9:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury, at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Interment Renvyle Cemetery, County Galway, Ireland.
Visiting Hours Monday, April 7th, from 4pm to 7pm in the Funeral Home.
