Obituary

WORCESTER-Ingrid B. (Quist) Swallow, 94, of 219 Clover Street died Saturday, August 12th in Knollwood Nursing Center. Her husband of 41 years, Ralph E. Swallow died in 1981. She is survived by a son, Russell E. Swallow and his fiancee, Linda J. Jackson of Shrewsbury, 2 grandchildren, Richard E. and his wife Penelope Swallow of Northborough and Randall E. Swallow of Worcester, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Quist of West Boylston and many nephews and nieces. She was expecting the birth of a great-granddaughter in October. Three brothers, Frithiof, Charles, and Runo Quist and a sister, Elna Shooshan predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Enholm) Quist. Mrs. Swallow graduated from Commerce High School in 1930 and completed several courses at Worcester State College in the 1970's. A homemaker and mother, she worked at the David Clark Company during World War II and during the 1950's at the White House Restaurant in Worcester. Her caregiver for the past eight years was her son, Russell. She was a client of the Summit ElderCare PACE Program since 2002 and had been receiving VNA Hospice Care for the past month. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
