Iona A. Giordani, 82, of Derry, NH died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mrs. Giordani was born in Rockland, ME on April 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Duke and Janie (Goodwin) Tracey. She had lived in Derry for the past 25 years, formerly residing in Lynn, MA. Mrs. Giordani was an accomplished knitter and avid reader who was known to all who loved her as “Nana.” A die-hard New England sports fan, she also loved to travel around the world with her husband and children.
Mrs. Giordani is survived by her sons: Albert F. Giordani and his wife, Katherine R., and John C. Giordani and his wife, Barbara A.; and her daughter, Christina M. Janvrin, all of Derry. She was also blessed in her life with nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, as well as an extended family of nine step-grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. Mrs. Giordani was predeceased by her husband of 59 years in 2003, Albert Giordani; her sons: Paul and James Giordani; her daughter-in-law, Diana Giordani; and her grandson, David Janvrin.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, the family will hold a private graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry, NH.
