MEREDITH ---- Abraham 'Abe' Dadian, 90, of Pease Road, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Golden View Health Care Center after a period of declining health.
Abe was born on December 2, 1934, in Lowell, MA, the son of the late Harry Dadian and Mary (Attoian) Dadian.
Abe was a proud United States Marine Sergeant and veteran serving from 1953 to 1959 in Korea and Japan. After his service he graduated from Lowell Technological Institute in Massachusetts with a degree in Methods Engineering. Abe worked in Production Control at Symphonics Corporation in MA, and then, after moving to New Hampshire in the mid-1970s with his family, at Vernitron Corporation in Laconia.
After purchasing and running Pelletier Movers for several years he started Wash and Roll, one of the first power wash companies in the area. He started Central New Hampshire Employment Services in 1979 as a permanent and temporary recruitment agency. Abe continued to own and operate CNHES for over 25 years. He was a past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lake Region General Hospital, past president of Chamber of Commerce, Laconia, NH, past president of the Streetcar Company Community Theatre Group, past president of the Laconia Rotary Club (recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award), and served on the boards of the Management Club and Salvation Army. Abe was also a substitute teacher for Laconia adult education classes. Anyone and everyone who knew Abe was keenly aware of his proud Armenian heritage, his sense of humor and his true dedication to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Abe is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lynn (Tierney) Dadian; son Mark Dadian and his wife Barbara, of Meredith, NH; daughters Christine St. Cyr and her husband Ron, of Farmington, NH, and Victoria Gaouette and her husband David, of Rindge, NH; sister Eva Donoian; nine grandchildren, Devon, Matthew, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Benjamin, Rachel, Abigail, Derek, and Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Abe, Grace, and Easton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Abe is predeceased by his brother Alexander Dadian; sister and brother-in-law Maragret and Haig Donoian; brother-in-law Ara Donoian; and very special friends Oscar Chakarian, Roger Ballantyne and Everett Munsey.
Per Abe’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A celebration of life is planned for the spring.
A private Graveside Service with military honors will be held at a later time at Bayside Cemetery, Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
For those who wish, memorial donations in Abe’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Should the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven’s scenes, they will see the streets now guarded by this United States Marine. Semper Fidelis.
