Mary Gladys (Shea) Garnhum, 85, died at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton on Thursday, August 10. She was the wife of the late George R. Garnhum, Sr. Born and educated in Dorchester, Mrs. Garnhum lived in Canton for 30 years and Sharon for 30 years before living in Stoughton for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker at home with her family. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing and music.
Mrs. Garnhum is survived by her children, Gail Kelley Faxon and her husband Brian of Abington, Jeanne Naper and her husband Robert of Canton, George Garnhum and his wife Donna of Norton, Julianne DiCastro-Nascenzi and her husband Paul of Stoughton, James Campbell of Attleboro and Mark Campbell of Lowell. She was the sister of John Shea and his wife Maureen of FL, William Shea and his wife Patricia of Abington and the late Daniel T. Shea, Jr., Myrtle Driscoll and Rowena Hoye. She was the sister-in-law of Carl Driscoll and Virginia Shea. She was the mother-in-law of the late Joseph DiCastro and Gerald Koenig and the former mother-in-law of John Kelley. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, August 14 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
