Obituary

Susan Elaine Tucker (Estella) passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on January 6th 2025, 11 days short of her 73rd birthday. Sue was considered the matriarch, as well as the heart and soul of her family.

Susan was born on January 17th, 1952, alongside her twin sister Diane Estella, in Everett, MA. She graduated from Arlington High School as part of the Class of 1970. After marrying Ralph Tucker Jr., they moved up to Londonderry, NH to raise their two daughters. Recently, they moved in with their daughter and family on a beautiful farm in Sanbornton, NH. In her short time in Sanbornton, she made a lasting impact on the community and will be dearly missed.

A lifelong teacher and a woman of tremendous faith, Susan spent over 35 years educating and helping to guide children of all ages within the Christian school system. Her passion was the English language, particularly grammar and literature. Blessed with boundless energy, she continued to substitute at Winnisquam Regional High School until her passing. She loved the kids of her community and was beloved by the students and staff there. Over the last several years, Sue loved to move around the farm beautifying the flowers and seeing what birds came to visit. She would keep family and friends up to date with daily updates about their local weather report and pictures from past events.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis Estella and Esther Zagami, and her beloved aunts, Edna, Doris and Ruth.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ralph Tucker Jr of 52 years; her two daughters, Jennifer Estella Tucker (Atlanta, GA), Elizabeth Estella Miller and wife Laurie Miller (Sanbornton, NH); her two grandchildren, Kaia Miller, Keion Miller and wife Shannon Miller; her sisters, Beverly Winter, Diane Estella, Donna Merrill and brother-in-law Paul Merrill, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that she adored. She was blessed to be able to enjoy the arrival of her great granddaughter, Lyla Miller, in August of 2024.

A Celebration of Life will take place May 17, 2025 at MillTuck Farm and Creamery to honor her at the farm she loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Susan’s memory.
