Jean Claunch Ray, 74, of Enigma died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Pat Hale and Rev. Pete Jones will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Bryan Little, Kaylan Little, Darrell Woods, Terry Richards, Roger Claunch and Donald Woods will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 11, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Ray was born on July 13, 1932 in Tishamingo, Mississippi and was the daughter of Sylvester Claunch and Lula Hill Claunch, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Barnes Chapel in Enigma.
Ms. Ray is survived by her husband, William F. "Bill" Ray of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sherri Ray of Ringgold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah R. and Scott Tucker of West Berrien Community, Kathy and Hal Harper of Niceville, Florida; two brothers, Truman Claunch of Brookfield, James Claunch of Clermont, Florida; one sister, Martha Little of Orlando, Florida; and seven grandchildren, Clark Coarsey, Lindsey Tucker, Sarah Tucker, Jordan Harper, Hannah Harper, John Ray and Keri Ray.
