Danvers: Marie E. (Normand) Savoie age 89 of Danvers, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Harborside Healthcare Twin Oaks in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Alban Savoie.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mathilda (Savard) Normand. She was employed by Sylvania the Salem Loring Avenue plant for 42 years. Shortly after her retirement, she and her husband moved to Florida and were residents of that state for 20 years. She returned to the North Shore in 1997. Mrs. Savoie was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club and St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish of Danvers.
She is survived by a brother: Alfred Normand of Beverly and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. She was predeceased by 6 brothers: Leo, Eugene, Arthur, Wilfred, Edward and Henry Normand and 4 sisters: Ann Poitras, Lenora Gauthier, Eva Moquin & Lydia Provost.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Saturday at 9:45 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her funeral mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers at 11 am. Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
